Prayer Reflection Video - 14 April 2025
A prayer for Holy Week from Dan Holland, CYF Facilitator for the Northern Baptist Association.
God of green shoots and grave clothes,
this week tells a story we half know,
a story stitched into the soil and the soul.
You were the seed buried—
and still,
you broke the dark open with life.
We walk these days slow.
The daffodils have opened like hallelujahs.
The cherry trees are extravagant again.
And yet we remember the cross.
Hold us in the ache of it all—
the betrayal, the silence,
the friends who fled,
the body broken.
Teach us to pray with the petals and the pain.
Teach us to see resurrection not just at the end,
but in every tender mercy along the way—
in a bird building her nest,
in a child’s muddy knees,
in bread shared with a friend.
This Holy Week,
let the turning earth teach us trust.
Let the warming wind remind us
that something always rises.
Even after this.
Amen.
