Clare Hooper (Southern Counties Baptist Association) reflects on what she is grateful for
 

 
Well it’s the start of 2025 and I’ve enjoyed scrolling through my social media feeds and reading all that my friends and family are grateful for. What I’m particularly grateful for in 2024 is the work of Project Violet. I don’t know if ‘enjoy’ is the word, but I have engaged with that research and the requests for change, and I am aware that behind every statistic there is a story, and that many of these stories are stories of pain.
 
And so, my prayer is that we would have the courage to sit with that pain – not to minimise it, not to brush it under the carpet, but to sit with that pain - to listen to the women. But I also pray that we will have wisdom - that God will give us wisdom - so that we don’t repeat the same mistakes, and that in future years we will have a different story to tell.
