Growing the seeds of faith: A reflection and prayer from Mung Hatzaw, minister of Spurgeon Baptist Church in the Central Baptist Association.
 
 

 

It is April now and Spring is here. It is absolutely beautiful as I’m sat outside in the garden. The bulbs that my wife planted in the Autumn of last year have now come to life – the daffodils and tulips are particularly beautiful, and it’s a wonderful time to be reminded of God the creator, and also the master gardener.
 
Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3 where he says: ‘I planted the seed, Apollos watered it and God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow’.
 
So I want to encourage us this time to pray for the seeds of faith that have been planted during this time of Lent, leading up to Easter. The seeds of faith planted in school assemblies or Alpha courses or Lent courses in our own churches, or perhaps in our own friend circle and families.

Let’s pray for the seeds to grow and also for an abundant harvest.
