St Hild appointment for Nike Adebajo
The Revd Dr Nike Adebajo will lead the first year of the Baptist Formation programme at the St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry, it has been announced
The Centre was accepted as a member college of the Baptist Union of Great Britain in March 2024 and Nick Allan was appointed as its first Director of Baptist Ministry.
Nike will lead the Formation programme for this first year, working closely with Nick and other staff and associate staff and building on the preparation work already done.
Nike is a regional minister in the Yorkshire Baptist Association, with responsibility for churches in South Yorkshire and Huddersfield and the lead for justice issues in the association.
She was previously a student at St Hild College and has a background in education as well as many years of experience in church leadership and ministry. Nike has a particular passion for prayer and its role in unifying and equipping churches for mission.
Graham Ensor, Chair of the Centre for Baptist Ministry and Regional Team Leader of the YBA, said, 'Nike is a valued colleague of mine within the YBA and I’m delighted that she will bring her gifts and experience to the Centre for Baptist Ministry by leading the formation programme in its first year.
'We’re confident that her leadership will ensure an excellent start to training for Baptist Ministry to those MiTs and students joining us in September.'
There will be a launch celebration of the Centre for Baptist Ministry with Lynn Green, the Secretary General of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and others in Sheffield on Monday 30 September, including Nick and Nike.
The launch celebration will be at 1.30pm at STC Sheffield, Nairn St, S10 1UL.
