Christmas Messy Church engages children

The children were buzzing and there was a lovely atmosphere at Laird Street Baptist Church as they engaged in the many Christmas craft ideas, writes Cathy Buntin

Laird Street Baptist Church MeLaird Street Baptist Church in Birkenhead hosted a Christmas Messy Church on Sunday 1 December.  Seventeen children came along with their parents/carers.

The theme was The Grumpy Owl and the Joy of Christmas.

The children were buzzing and there was a lovely atmosphere as the children engaged in the many Christmas craft ideas.

They all loved the Christmas story told through the eyes of the Grumpy Owl. They also loved pass the parcel and enjoyed all sharing in tea together as a family.

The Lord truly blessed our time together.  The children all received a gift bag and the story book of the Grumpy Owl and the Joy of Christmas.

Before the children left two of them called all the helpers together and read out a beautiful thank you card.

We were all touched by their appreciation and all the hard work was well worth it to see children laughing together, chatting and showing love to one another.

Christmas is a great time of year to share the Christmas message.
