Super Easter Sunday at Gilgal Baptist Church

Easter day is a special day for any church but for Gilgal Baptist Church in Porthcawl it was super special with eight baptisms in all, writes Liz Rees

The day started with our Easter breakfast where around 45 people gathered to enjoy breakfast together in our church cafe.

A baptism service was planned for the morning with four people already committed to being baptised. After these had taken place our pastor the Revd Martin Gillard gave the invitation to anyone else in the congregation who felt they wanted to make a public declaration of their love for Jesus.

At this point another two people went forward.  The atmosphere in the church was palpable and Pastor Martin gave the invitation again for anyone who might want to come back in the evening and get baptised.

The evening service was soon upon us and another two people came forward, praise the Lord. That was eight baptisms in all, what a wonderful Easter day God blessed us with.

We continue to pray for Louise, Jeanie, Christine, Wayne, Adam, Gemma, David and Teresa  who were baptised that they will have a strong and meaningful relationship with Jesus, serving the church and being part of his family.
