Baptist Assembly in Wales

Baptists in Wales gathered in Carmarthen for Momentum, their annual Assembly last Friday and Saturday (12-13 June)

Baptist Assembly Wales

The theme Living to Please God was woven through worship and reflections, enabled by collaboration between the South Wales Baptist Association, Baptist Union of Wales, BMS World Mission and the South Wales Baptist College.

Key note speakers, including Ed Kaneen, Susan Stephenson and Ifor Williams, focused on Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians.

On the Friday night there was celebration of the success of the BUW appeal, which exceeded its target magnificently, raising £36,317 to helping to resource a new maternity ward as part of BMS’ health ministry in Chad.

BMS also launched the Dignity initiative, which prompted powerful responses from those challenged, by David Kerrigan’s address, to take a stand against gender based violence.

Workshops included The Model Church for Mission with Simeon Baker and Ifor Williams, The Christian in Society with Jonathan Cox, Preaching in 1 Thessalonians with Peter Stevenson and Dignity: How the resource might impact your local church with Laura Gill and Menna Machreth.
