'Small, but making an impact on their community'
Thirty-five people celebrated the 10th gathering of the Waltham Abbey area small church hub, enjoying the hospitality at Suffolks Baptist Church and worshipping together

The gathering focused on what is going well in each church as well as the things each church needed help with. During our discussion, the churches came up with a list that they could offer to the hub, facilitated through the WhatsApp group:
-
Good facilities and a large car park for hosting events
-
Open days for neighbourhood and classical concerts
-
Register of tradesmen – electrician, gas servicing, roofing etc (One secretary offered to organise a database for this for other churches to add to)
-
Admin help
-
Potential speaker list
-
Catering team – small scale catering
-
Bible book club with food – invite friends/community to dinner to read the Bible together
-
Potential health coach/wellbeing (podcasts/online workshops)
-
Excellent pianist
When asked on the feedback forms, (16 completed) 7 people said their church was small but making an impact on their community. Eleven said their church was small but growing.
None said they were struggling. This is really encouraging news!
Each church had much to celebrate but realised that reaching out, especially to younger people was a weak area at the moment. The next hub gathering in March, will seek to address this as ‘Big Life’ come to train the group.
