'Much gained from spiritual gifting workshop'
The second small church hub held at Union Church in Heathfield, organised by the Small Church Connexion, was a gifting workshop based on Ephesians 4:11-12 with the theme of ‘Go and make disciples’. By Hilary Taylor

There was a song and teaching led by Martin Taylor, then everyone completed a questionnaire which gave an indication of gifting. The gifting with the highest score signified which discussion group to join. There were questions for each of the gifting groups (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd and Teacher PLUS Organiser and Helper). The discussion was lively and informative.
After a well-earned coffee break, Martin took us on a whistle stop tour of the gifts (including a short exercise in prophecy) before the groups got back together for exercise two, after which was group feedback.
Much was gained from this Saturday morning workshop – of the 17 people who returned feedback forms, nine said their general knowledge of spiritual gifts had increased either noticeably or significantly. Ten people said their understanding of their own gifts and abilities had increased either noticeably or significantly.
Mentoring was encouraged and it was great to see an older person come alongside a younger person on the day, long may this continue.
