Joth Hunt appointed SEBA Regional Minister Team Leader
The Revd Joth Hunt has been called as the next Regional Minister Team Leader of the South Eastern Baptist Association (SEBA)
Joth is currently a Regional Minister with the Southern Counties Baptist Association (SCBA) and previously served in ministry at Eastleigh and Harlow Baptist Churches. Before his call to Baptist ministry Joth worked for Viz-A-Viz.
The recommendation to call him was brought by the SEBA trustees to the recent Association gathering, where it was subsequently agreed by members.
Joth will succeed the Revd Stuart Davison, who is retiring this year after 15 years at the helm.
'Joth brings a heart for mission and a desire to “encourage the hearts of the saints” and we are excited that he has chosen to accept our call,' SEBA explained.
'Please join us in welcoming him and we look forward to what God will do through him as he takes on leading the Association, building on all the work Stuart has been doing with us for the last 15 years.
'We are very grateful to God for the wonderful way this appointment has been made, and for the excellent new Team Leader that He has sent us.'
Joth said he had the mixed emotions as he prepared to join South Eastern Baptist Association.
'There's sadness, as I say goodbye to Southern Counties, but also excitement as I look forward to this new opportunity.
'I have been in SCBA for the past 13 years serving as a minister at Eastleigh, a trustee of SCBA and for the past four years our churches as a Regional Minister. It has been a real joy to serve alongside Colin Norris, Clare Hooper, Amy Allen, Dave Llewellyn, Ali Boulton, Steve Barber, Andrea King and Joy Cheang and a huge privilege to serve our churches and pioneer initiatives.
'The opportunity to join SEBA will enable me to join a great team and to build on what God has been doing over the past years under the excellent leadership of Stuart.
'I give thanks to God as he leads me into this new adventure with SEBA while my prayers remain with SCBA and its churches that God will continue to lead them into greater fruitfulness.'
SEBA is currently working with Joth to make plans for his move to the Association, with the aim that he will start with on the 1 July.
