Re: Multicultural Preaching Listening Day at Spurgeon's College
It would be nice to hear the Baptist Union take a stand on something that's not a trendy, liberal-left, socially-acceptable issue for a change. You are becoming almost overtly political, always with a leftist slant. Next you'll be telling us that it's our Christian moral duty to vote for Corbyn.

I'm all for welcoming churches and overcoming prejudice. However, this fixation with multiculturalism is over the top. There are scores of churches in this country that cater exclusively to one ethnic or language group and who have no desire to be multicultural. We accept the right to worship God in a way that they find culturally convenient. Please can you extend the same right to me as a white English person? Even in the 'Together' articles there are examples of Caribbean or Nigerian dominated churches or ones full of 'black millennials.' Are they expected to be multicultural too?

There's also little sympathy for the white British who may not be racist but who genuinely struggle with the cultural transformation of their communities and the way that this has been foisted upon them with little regard for how it would affect them. My city of 270,000 has 50,000 migrants living here. All well and good but they all need to live somewhere. Yet we have a massive housing crisis and local young people now have to compete with thousands of incomers for scarce resources. Yet nobody speaks up about that, only about the supposed needs of migrants. All we get is selfish well-off Christians telling us that they think the borders should be thrown open, that any objection to the pace and scale of immigration is racist when it won't be them that has to struggle for housing and employment.

The church of Christ is made up of all nations but that doesn't mean that every single church congregation has to reflect that. Nor does it mean that we have a biblical mandate to make every country - every Western country at least - as 'diverse' as possible.

Re: Thy Kingdom Come
It's happening everywhere! The Lord is releasing His Holy Spirit in dreams, visions to all peoples It must be one of the most exciting times to live in His story! It just needs us to weep and plead at His feet for the forgiveness for us all. His timing, His plan. Let's never stop praising and worshiping Him day and night!

Amen to that. We better get on our surf boards then... You ready?! Gotta spot the wave and get on it as it comes!!

Re: 'An amazing opportunity for Christians who love the Bible'
This is a fantastic method. Please sign up if you can - I've no speaking experience or referees so I can't do it myself but have been waiting for an adult course in my area for my 12yr old to go on because they didn't run it at her primary. It is one of the best things I have done for my understanding of the Bible.
