Property Trustees - Baptist Trust Corporations
Most Baptist churches are unincorporated associations so there are special arrangements about the ownership of land. Their land will usually be held by Trustees, either a group of individual people or one of the Baptist Trust Corporations.
There are eight Baptist trust corporations. This information has been prepared by the Baptist Union Corporation who support over 850 churches by acting as their Property Trustee. Churches buying property will often appoint one of the Trust Corporations. The decision is an important one, so there is information for churches to consider as well as notes about procedure.
