Advent Prayer from Lynn Green

Our General Secretary has recorded the following prayer which can be downloaded and shared in your church services this Advent.

As we continue in prayer for you, please join us in praying for one another across Baptists Together and share this prayer with others.

Text of the prayer
Loving God, we wait in eager anticipation to celebrate the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Thank you that in Jesus you stepped into our world to show that you truly are Emmanuel, God with us.  Thank you that in Jesus we can see clearly what you are like and the new life that you want to give us.

We praise you for all the Kingdom life and growth across Baptists Together in this past year and we boldly pray for more, Lord!  Our prayer is that many more would come to know you as Lord and Saviour, experiencing the abundant life you offer and beginning the journey of discipleship.

Lord, shine your light through us this Advent and Christmas and help us to share Jesus wherever we are.  And as we worship you, may we also be restless for your Kingdom to come in all its fullness and play our part as agents of your love, light and justice.

In the precious and glorious name of Jesus, we pray.

Amen.
