CMD Webinar - How can we recover well?

Wednesday 17 March 2021, 1pm.
In June 2020, Simon Barrington from Forge Leadership led us through the three stages in the 'lifecycle of an emergency' - response, recovery and reconstruction. With repeated lockdowns and church closures over the last nine months, we have been bounced back into responding to the pandemic whenever we thought we were about to recover. The vaccination programme may provide us with a route back to the freedoms we have lost, but the task of recovery may now be so much greater than we first imagined it would be. In this webinar, Simon helps us focus on this recovery phase especially, so that we may help ourselves, our congregations and our communities in the coming season.

You can find more resources about helping your church to plan for and process the recovery phase on the CPAS website.

We also talked about resources that can help us think through and understand trauma. Simon mentioned this Bible Society webpage. And we also have our own introductory video to the subject which was recorded last year as a conversation between Rachel Stone, BUGB Team Leader for safeguarding and HR, and Andrea King, SCBA safeguarding lead.  We also have a sheet of further, often substantial articles and videos you can peruse should you want to. Please email Tim Fergusson in the Ministries Team should you want a copy.
