It was a joyous occasion

Baptisms, renewing of vows and church membership - announcement from Alvechurch Baptist Church

AnthonyOn 15 September in front of a large congregation at Alvechurch Baptist Church, Anthony Asbury (pictured) and Keith Bassett professed their commitment to God through baptism. The service was conducted by our Minister Revd Fiona Lee.

Anthony was joined by long standing church member, John Hill and Keith by his son, Richard Bassett.

It was a joyous occasion, made more so by David Messenger renewing his Baptismal vows, made around 20 years ago, and two others being received into membership (Lloyd Wightman and Peter Griffiths).

It was a very moving occasion and an opportunity for the congregation to worship once more in the sanctuary.  At present, morning and evening worship takes place in the Church hall whilst money is raised to complete phase two of a renovation project, which is the refurbishment of the sanctuary.  It is currently stripped back to the plaster and empty of all furniture.  The simplicity of the surroundings just proved to enhance the beauty of the service.
