Concert raises funds for Home Mission
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church hit the high notes when it raised more than £400 for Home Mission.
The Northampton church organised a Covent Garden-style classical concert, with pieces by Bach, Mozart, Fleming, Dvorak, Liszt, Schubert and Widor.
It was organised by senior minister and team leader the Revd Paul Lavender, who played the organ and piano, and who worked as a professional musician before becoming a minister.
It also featured international opera and concert soprano Alison Roddy and violinist Teresa Brown, the director of music of the Northampton Cathedral choir. Tickets were £5, and all proceeds were for Home Mission.
