Book by Seidel Abel Boanerges
Intercultural Preaching
Publisher: Independently published
RRP: £15.00
Our churches in Britain today are becoming increasingly multicultural. This will be for some both a delight and a challenge not least for those called to preach inside them. Whether we like it or not it, this is a reality with which the church must engage. It is a challenge to our understanding of mission in Britain.
Intercultural Preaching consists of a series of essays in which scholars and practitioners, ministers, and lay people, all of whom are preachers, share their insights on the joys and challenges of preaching in diverse contexts. This is a practical resource for those charged with preaching the word of God to God’s people in changing and complex times. The book also includes sample sermons as examples of sermons preached in multicultural contexts.
The book was edited by Seidel along with Anthony G. Reddie, Director of the Oxford Centre for Religion and Culture in Regent’s Park College and Pamela Searle, minister of Sutton Baptist Church in London.
