Two locations for the Esther Collective

A discipleship and leadership initiative for young women will be running in Birmingham and Huddersfield this autumn

Charlotte Hendy300Based around themes from the Book of Esther, the Esther Collective seeks to enable women to explore their identity, discover their purpose and unleash their potential ‘for such a time as this’ (Esther Ch.4:14). It's for all women aged 18-30s, and is run by Girls’ Brigade Ministries after launching last year.

The Esther Collective takes place over nine months, and is made up of four key elements: gathering together on five Saturdays throughout the year; an online hub with blogs and content to help unpack the themes back home; establishing a mentoring relationship; and reading (or listening to) the Bible over the year.

The Esther Collective Project Leader Charlotte Hendy (pictured), who is featured in Christianity magazine (September 2015 edition) as part of a feature celebrating the work of 33 people aged 33 or less who are making an impact within both the UK church and society, said, ‘We want to raise up a generation of God-focused women who are influencers in all spheres of life. If you want to delve into the topics of faith, life, and leadership alongside like-minded women, then The Esther Collective is just for you!’

Kirsty Mabbott, 32, from Manchester, who took part in The Esther Collective this year, said, ‘This year has given me space to reconnect with God and to remember I’m fully loved no matter what.’ Another member of The Esther Collective, Hazel Adamson, 27, from Oxfordshire, added, ‘I feel that I’m now closer to God than I have been for a while.’

The Esther Collective will run in Birmingham from September, and in Huddersfield from October. Jenni Entrican, Baptist Union President 2015-16, will be joining The Esther Collective in Huddersfield at their first event in October 2015.
