BMS Ebola response

Respond to the Ebola crisis in West Africa through BMS World Mission and its trusted partners in the region

BMS has partners in Guinea, where over 900 people have died, and has just made a grant of about £12,000 to resource the medical mission centre at Macenta in Guinea to respond to Ebola and reinforce the health care system.

The grant will:

• Provide protective clothing for those helping to fight the disease

• Help to support vulnerable patients hospitalised in the medical centre

Enable triage for suspected cases among outclinic patients – a potentially life-saving measure on a large scale

• Make it possible to renovate medical equipment, as well as hospital buildings, generators and pumps

BMS is fighting Ebola alongside trusted partners working across the region, and your support is essential to that fight.

It has long been dealing with the effects of the virus in Guinea, as Solange Wood, then our worker, related in April, and in our story of how BMS doctor Eric Bafende returned to Guinea from home assignment in the UK to help fight the disease. Recently, Eric told of how he had come face to face with the horrors of the virus while in Guinea.

You can help support this and further grants to fight this horrific disease by sending cheques to BMS World Mission and indicating that they are to support our work fighting Ebola. You can also donate right now to support BMS' Ebola relief work

Please give generously and ask your church to do the same. Together, Christians can make a difference.
