Texans bless church and community

Basford Road Baptist Church in Nottingham has just been blessed by a visit by Dr Travis Burleson, the senior pastor from the First Baptist Church, Salado, Texas and one of his deacons, Chance Goodin.  Revd John Singleton is presented with Texan T-shirt

Travis and Chance spent time visiting and speaking at the monthly Bright! club for 5 – 11 year olds and took part in the church’s prayer meeting (with 25 in attendance in a church of 34 members).

They visited Chatsworth House another day after speaking at an assembly at a local primary school and attended and spoke at Basford Road’s six-monthly all day prayer day. On the Sunday they spoke at the morning service to about 70 attendees.

A  Texan evening with about 50 people went down well as did taking the assembly for years 10 and 11 at Bluecoat Academy before they both met with the Basford Road deacons to review the weekend.

Such was a the success of their visit that at the church meeting the church unanimously agreed to partner with FBC Salado and are now looking at ways in which the two can bless each other.
