New Course to Equip Women in Leadership begins this Weekend
A highly regarded course that seeks to mentor women in leadership begins in the West of England Baptist Association this weekend.
The seven Deadly Sins of Women in Leadership course considers what lies at the root of the many challenges facing women leaders and discusses ways of dealing with them.
It was created by the Revd Dr Kate Coleman, author, preacher and international speaker and a former president of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
"I spent many years hoping that someone would write a book that would mentor me as a woman in leadership,' she said. In the end she realised she needed to write that book - and this is the course which accompanies it.
It has already been successfully run in Birmingham, Yorkshire and the Southern Counties.
Nikki Pollard attended the course in Yorkshire before she moved to Bristol last year. She said, 'The biggest joy was the privilege of seeing the fruit every single Saturday of women (from different backgrounds, ages) being inspired, challenged, starting to deal with issues they hadn't dealt with for years,
'For many of the women it gave them confidence and belief they needed that God really is with them and has good plans for their lives. Seeing women able to step up in their relationship with Jesus was just so great, and in fact it was that that excited more than anything.'
The course takes place over seven Saturdays between April and December, and will be delivered by Dr Coleman. It begins on Saturday at Bradley Stoke Evangelical Church in Bristol.
