A week of fun and fellowship

In May, a group of men from Winchester Baptist Church hired a narrowboat for a week on the Kennet and Avon Canal

NarrowboatDespite the rather changeable weather, they had a wonderful time as they navigated the scenic waterway, ascended and descended the famous Caen Locks and visited Bath and Devizes. Royal Navy Chaplain, the Revd Roland Wort, organised the trip and it was so successful that other men at the church have contacted Roland to include them if there is a repeat adventure next year.

Each morning, a short thought for the day was given by Revd Marcus Dickinson, minister of Winchester Baptist Church.

Afterward he said, 'What an enjoyable week of fun and fellowship between some of the men from our church – a great way of exploring our life of faith together. There is something quite special about getting to know one another outside of the usual church setting.

'A huge thank you to our skipper Roland for arranging the week and keeping such an unruly mob in order!'
