Adults at Risk

An adult at risk is defined as anyone aged 18 or over who due to disability, mental function, age, illness or traumatic circumstances may not be able to take care of or protect themselves against the risk of significant harm, abuse, bullying, harassment, mistreatment or exploitation.

Safe to Belong

Safe to Belong is the BUGB safeguarding policy focused on protecting and serving adults at risk.

The document is made up of a policy statement, procedures and guidance, which covers:
  • Why we think safeguarding adults is important;
  • What to do if you know of or suspect abuse;
  • How to make your church a safe and welcoming environment for all.
