Opening church buildings for prayer during the week (23 March - 1pm)
We are aware that some churches have considered keeping the church building open to allow people to come in to pray during the week.  We would strongly urge you to follow Government advice regarding social distancing and NOT open the building during the week or on Sundays.  It is essential that we help protect the most vulnerable in our communities and ensure that the NHS can function to the best of its ability.  Encouraging people not to congregate, even in small groups, is one of the ways we serve our communities in love.

That does not mean we are not encouraging or helping people to pray, both within our own churches and in the wider community.   Over the next few weeks, we will be posting ideas that could be used to lead people to prayer.   Please check out our resource section here.

Forthcoming Update (23 March - 1pm)
We are awaiting for advice from HMRC to be published regarding payments for furloughed staff in the current crisis.   We will assess the information as it is published to ascertain the level to which it applies to churches and charities.   We will update as soon as we can.  In the meantime, please click here if you would like more information.
