National Safeguarding Adviser (Maternity Cover)

Are you an experienced senior safeguarding professional with a good understanding of safeguarding in the church context?
We are looking for an energetic and committed individual to join us for one year to provide maternity cover as part of our national safeguarding team. This role is a really varied mix of policy, advice, development and complex casework. Working as part of a team of four, and liaising with our network of regional safeguarding contacts, this role has responsibility for handling safeguarding cases involving accredited ministers and advising on the most challenging cases where churches need our support.
You will need to be a senior practitioner with an appropriate professional qualification, but we are most interested in your experience of leading the development of good safeguarding practice, writing and promoting good safeguarding policy and working to inspire others to excellence in safeguarding. You will need to be able to lead on complex cases, working with other professional colleagues and providing safeguarding expertise.
This is a full-time role based in Didcot but requiring regular travel across England and Wales.

It is an occupational requirement that the post-holder is a Christian with active involvement in their local church life.
