  • Along with a team from Egypt, church members are engaging in a week of street evangelism and mission to the local community in Brighton and Hove this summer

  • Developing a new ministry of evangelism through sports in Egypt

BePartOur church is a small congregation in Brighton and Hove.  Although its membership is not big, we work hard and have a very clear vision for Brighton and Hove, and strong mission in Egypt.

The church worships at Southern Cross Evangelical Church on Sundays with a Bible Study once a month after Sunday worship.

Church News and activities:
  • We felt God’s presence among us during the 10th Anniversary celebrations in September 2016.
  • New Syrian family (five people) have joined the church this year, plus two more Christians from Muslim backgrounds. One of them is preparing to be baptised soon.
  • On Good Friday, all evangelical Arab churches in Brighton and Hove met up to fast, worship and take Communion together.
  • The church is involved in street evangelism and mission to the local community this year (15-23 June).  We will be joined by a team from Egypt.
  • A monthly prayer meeting is held for all Evangelical churches in Brighton and Hove.

ArabicCommChMay2017Mission in Egypt:
  • The Arabic Community Church has been involved in mission in Egypt since 2012.
  • In February 2016, God gave us a new ministry in Egypt which is evangelism through sports.  We had the opportunity to run tournaments for 40 teams in Cairo and Upper Egypt, half of each team are Muslims and the other half are Christians. In addition to that there was a mix of 80 Muslim and Christian volunteers.
  • Egyptian Community Association in England and Europe got involved with us in this event.
  • Ben Van Ness is a Football Coach from Horsham and the main supporter for providing sport kits to 500 players.  He also was with Pastor Gadalla in Egypt. The events were seen by over 4,000 spectators.

Things to praise God for:
  • Although we are small in number, God uses every member to their full potential for his glory in Brighton and Hove, as well as in Egypt.
  • Those who have become new members recently.
  • The new ministry in the Egypt community and for the new relationships with the various government bodies in Egypt and UK.

Things to ask God for:
  • Blessings for new people who became members recently, especially those from Muslim backgrounds.
  • For protection and resources to sustain our Egyptian Mission.
  • Fruitful ministry in outreach (Evangelical Street Project) in June 2017.
  • Pastor Gadalla, who starts his Masters study with Spurgeons College in September 2017, and finishes writing a book in Arabic about leaders of Reformation from 1000 – 1600 AD.

Four things to thank God for:
  • Lynn Green, the General Secretary of the BUGB, for her video to congratulate us on our 10th anniversary, and Paul Kerley - one of our Regional Ministers in SEBA.
  • For the funding from Baptist Home Mission to enable the church to continue.
  • For the prayerful support of SEBA Ministers and churches.
  • For all SEBA Leaders who enable Gadalla to feel cared for and supported in his ministry and study.
