Specialist Adviser, Ministries Team
£30-33K, Didcot, Oxfordshire
Do you have a professional background in HR, law or management of professional conduct? We are looking for a Specialist Adviser to help us handle the discipline and conduct of accredited ministers and church workers in the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
Working as part of our Ministries Team, this role provides professional support to the Ministerial Recognition Committee and the Ministries Team Leader as they deal with concerns about the behaviour, conduct and capability of accredited ministers and workers. This includes taking statements, conducting investigations and interviews, preparing reports and summaries, and providing support to the Ministerial Recognition Committee who have the final say on matters of discipline.
This is a varied and interesting role, where you can use your professional skill set to good effect and work alongside ministers, safeguarding specialists and HR staff to make sure that the processes and decisions of the Union are fair and sound.
You will need to be calm, well organised and able to operate well in sensitive or difficult situations. You will be able to inspire trust and confidence in those who work with you, and to manage your workload effectively and efficiently. You will be professionally qualified and have a track record of dealing with disciplinary and capability matters in previous roles.
