SEBAPulborough Brooks Baptist Church

It has now been four years since we first opened the doors of Pulborough Brooks Baptist Church (PBBC) to share the love of Christ with our local community.  Since the first Sunday we have been blessed by God who has provided for us abundantly from the riches of his grace.  This past year has seen some challenges but the Lord has continued to add to our number and we have seen some exciting developments in our ministries.  For example, we have merged our 'Time Out 4 Dads' group with 'Who Let the Dads Out'.  Our parent and toddler group has just celebrated its second anniversary and we have moved our friendship group meeting into a brand new Costa Coffee cafe.

PulboroughBrooksFollowing the MAD mission in 2012 we committed ourselves to visit every home in the area to offer the gift of a plant.  Since the last Home Mission update we have successfully completed this task having delivered over 2000 winter pansies around the village.  We continue to enjoy good relations with our local schools and this past August we partnered with Splash for schools to provide a holiday club for 80 children during the summer holidays.

Our ethos at PBBC continues to be outward looking as we seek to play our part in building God’s kingdom in Pulborough. We are motivated by our call to show the love of Jesus to our friends and neighbours through our actions as well as words. The bread stall that we run at the village market allows us to serve the community directly and provides us with a great opportunity to meet folk outside of a church setting.

As a church we both support and are part of the CVM network as we believe that reaching men for Christ is crucial for the wellbeing of our society.

In addition to the regular contributions that we make to BMS and Home Mission, we have extended the support that we give as a church to include the Kisumu trust (a children's orphanage in Kenya) and to a family working as missionaries in the Gambia.

We continue to give praise and thanks for:
  • The blessings that we have experienced through our ministries.
  • The ways in which we have seen God at work in people’s lives and the many answers to prayer that we have witnessed over the past year.
  • Continued growth in church membership.

Please join us in praying that:
  • God will continue to bless us as we seek to reach out and serve the people of Pulborough.
  • We will be clearly guided in where to prioritise our limited resources.
  • People will gladly receive the good news of the gospel and be changed by it.

Practical needs:
  • We need to update our church risk assessment.  If anyone can advise us on best practice with regards to operating out of a community centre it would be greatly appreciated.

A Big Thank You:
On behalf of everyone at PBBC I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for the support that you have given, as individuals and churches, to the Home Mission fund.  A grant from Home Mission has enabled us to focus on playing our part in building God’s kingdom.  Without Home Mission support this would not have been possible.  So thank you all!
