SEBAPlaying a part in building God’s kingdom

Pulborough Brooks Baptist Church (PBBC) is now in its third year and continues to experience God’s blessing. The past year has seen us settle nicely in to a larger venue which has given us plenty of room for our regular congregation and will allow for further growth.  We have also moved our Sunday school into a larger hall so that the children have more space to run around and play games.

PulboroughBrooksOur ethos at PBBC continues to be outward looking.  As a church we seek to play our part in building God’s kingdom in Pulborough.  We are motivated by our call to show the love of Jesus to our friends and neighbours through our actions as well as words.  In the past year we have started a parent and toddler group (called Jelly Beans), not only for the benefit of the young families that have joined the church, but also as a means of being a blessing to our community.  This has been very successful and has steadily grown from just a handful of folk to over 50 children and adults attending each week.

Central to both our men’s and children’s ministry is a monthly Time Out 4 Dads meeting.  At TO4D’s we serve breakfast for dads and their kids, followed by games and challenges to get everyone working and playing together.  This continues to be successful and has enabled us to start a ‘Dads' Forum’ which meets a couple of times a month to give dads the opportunity to talk about what it means to be a dad.  As a church we both support and are part of the CVM network as we believe that reaching men for Christ is crucial for the wellbeing of our society.

We continue to give praise and thanks for:
  • The blessings that we have experienced through our new ministries.
  • The ways in which we have seen God at work in people’s lives and the many answers to prayer that we have witnessed over the past year.
  • Continued growth in church membership.
Please join us in praying that:
  • God will continue to bless us as we seek to reach out and serve the people of Pulborough.
  • We will be clearly guided in where to prioritise our limited resources.
  • People will gladly receive the good news of the gospel and be changed by it.
Practical needs:
  • We have a need for more leaders to help with the children’s work as the number of children and young people continues to grow.
In the coming year:
  • Ladies' Ministry: To establish a ministry amongst the young mums who bring their children to the toddler group.
  • Men’s Ministry: To encourage and disciple men in the church to enable them to reach out to other men with the gospel.
  • Youth Club: Voluntary assistance to the village youth club in partnership with the local council.
A Big Thank You:
On behalf of everyone at PBBC I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for the support that you have given, as individuals and churches, to the Home Mission fund.  A grant from Home Mission has enabled us to focus on playing our part in building God’s kingdom.  Without Home Mission support this would not have been possible.  So thank you all!
